We are seeking a passionate and experienced Software Developer to join our growing team on a part or full-time basis to help us make regulation fun!
About the Role
We are seeking a talented Software Developer to join our innovative team at RegMetrics and particularly our development team based in Brazil. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining our online software platform. Our platform empowers university and MedTech startups to navigate complex European regulations and determine the regulatory classification of their medical devices.
Responsibilities
- Platform Development: Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable software solutions to enhance the platform's functionality and user experience.
- Feature Implementation: Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical specifications and implement new features including artificial intelligence (AI) implementation.
- Code Quality: Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code, adhering to best practices and coding standards.
- Testing and Debugging: Conduct thorough unit, integration, and system testing to ensure the platform's reliability and performance.
- Problem-Solving: Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues, providing timely solutions.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other developers, to ensure seamless collaboration and project delivery.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest technologies and industry trends to drive innovation and optimise the platform.
Qualifications
Technical Skills:
- Demonstrable expertise in Python and Django web development
- Experience with Relational Database Systems (especially PostgreSQL), Docker/ Containerised deployments, RESTful APIs (e.g. DRF), GitHub, CI and Testing
- An understanding of the following technologies: Heroku, AWS, GCP
- Front end programming skills using vanilla JavaScript and with JS-based frameworks such as React/Vue/etc.
- Front end styling skills using Tailwind and BEM
- Familiarity or experience with Wagtail (desirable)
- Knowledge or expertise of best practices in accessibility (desirable)
Soft Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Passion for technology and a desire to learn.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with regulatory compliance, particularly in the medical device industry.
- Knowledge of machine learning or artificial intelligence techniques.
- Familiarity with data analysis and visualisation tools.
Benefits
- Full-time basis with an annual salary of £47,000 to £65,000. We are open to discussing part-time employment opportunities also.
